Nolan Woods in Woodinville was selected as the home of the 18th Street of Dreams Event. Seven show homes were on display ranging from $1.5-$2.7 million. Lifestyle Landscapes, Inc. created an amazing outdoor oasis for Redman/CJ Design & Construction Company's Tamarack Lodge.
About the Design
As with all of our projects, we
began by identifying key design elements to complement the
home's architecture and setting: a "chic lodge" with an Aspen
air, set in the Pacific Northwest. This project differed from
our typical work as the house is for sale and we were not able
to ascertain the unique needs of the homeowner. We tried to put
ourselves in the shoes of the homeowner and envisioned that the
key needs would be a generous amount of recreational space,
ample entertaining areas, an inviting entry, privacy throughout
the property and a harmonious flow between the separate outdoor
areas.
Homeowners often express interest in creating a landscape that is inviting for guests to explore. An unusual water feature located near the covered rear patio serves this purpose by beckoning guests into the landscape. The water feature introduces the sound of cascading water and makes use of stone's natural breaks to evoke the feeling of mountain range vista.
To echo the home's intricate roof lines and interior layout, an artistic structural element has been designed into in the rear garden. The definition of the lawn and plantings create the feeling of a private meadow and make use of native plants. The front entry of the home was designed to be inviting and play off the home's features.
